AEW’s inaugural pay-per-view Double Or Nothing takes place this Saturday in Las Vegas and the promotion vows to make a statement just two days from now.

With the excitement off the charts, AEW just dropped a major bombshell by announcing the details of the All Elite World Championship.

Per the announcement, the winner of the Casino Battle Royal at Double Or Nothing will get a guaranteed shot at the prestigious AEW World Title. However, to earn the title, the winner will have to go through one of the best wrestlers in the world – either Chris Jericho or Kenny Omega.

Jericho and Omega are set to clash on May 25 with the winner getting a shot at the gold. And this will be taking on the Casino Battle Royal winner to determine the first-ever AEW World Champion.

With just a single announcement, AEW has raised the stakes for two highly-anticipated matches on the Double Or Nothing card.

There are a few huge surprises in store for fans on May 25 and while fans differ in opinion as to what those surprise might be, all are looking forward to Jon Moxley (formerly WWE’s Dean Ambrose) making a surprise appearance at the event.

AEW nixed Pac vs. Adam Page earlier this week and fans were left disappointed. Pac’s heel persona generated tremendous interest but after the recent creative differences, nobody is certain on Pac’s future with AEW.

What’s interesting is that earlier there was a subtle tease of Pac getting a potential shot at the new title.

The promotion, however, has managed to quickly come up with a ‘compensation’ in the form of the AEW World Title announcement, generating huge buzz in the process.

For what it’s worth, a member of The Elite will very likely be involved in the title feud which means that The Cleaner could be scoring a victory over Y2J in Las Vegas.
