AEW presents Double or Nothing tomorrow night live from Las Vegas and it appears that this show could be the one show that the rising company will be measured upon. Ahead of the show, there are a number of rumors about which stars could turn up as part of the show including former WWE superstar Dean Ambrose who has now changed his name to Jon Moxley and even CM Punk.
CM Punk hasn’t wrestled a match since he left WWE back in 2014 but was recently part of a run in where he was able to deliver a GTS under a mask. Many believe that Punk is a retired wrestler since he has turned his attention to UFC and an acting career in recent years, but it’s hard to rule out a return to the ring if the time and price is right.
While part of a recent Starrcast Q&A Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks were asked about a run in AEW for CM Punk in the future and it seems that the door will always be open for him.
Nick Jackson stated that Punk is thought to be retired, “I wanna be honest in my gut I feel like he’s done with pro wrestling so unfortunately, I don’t see it happening,” he said via Ringsidenews.
“I would say what I would say to Punk, wrestling fans never gave up on CM Punk. It’s an unbelievable connection that he accrued for the fan base and himself. So I can say for that reason that the door remains open for CM Punk at all times.”
Never say never in the wrestling world, CM Punk could be convinced to make a return to the ring in future and if Double or Nothing is the place that he chooses then fans will only have to wait until tomorrow night for it to happen.
