<p>First scouted by WWE officials while smashing his way through the college wrestling ranks, and then debuting on Raw March 18, 2002, and singlehandedly destroying a ring full of unfortunate Superstars. From that night on, the domination was unrepentant. With the sinister Paul Heyman guiding his career, “The Next Big Thing”, is now the longest singles reigning champion of WWE’s Modern Era.</p>

<p>Of all Paul Heyman’s pet projects, Brock Lesnar will always be the benchmark. At the age of 40, he is still a threat in the ring and most challengers sharing the ring with The Beast almost pee in their pants when his music hits. The Conqueror, The Beast Incarnate, The Anomaly or whatever godlike title you choose to bestow upon Brock Lesnar, surely, this behemoth fits each and every one of them.</p>



<p>Here are 20 beast-like undisputed facts about Brock Lesnar that shows who The Beast really is behind his tough stature and what makes him the Mayor of Suplex City.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">1.&nbsp;The Only Person in History to&#8230;</h2>

<p>Brock Lesnar&#8217;s career is studded with championship gold and he is the only person in all of history to have conquered the WWE Universal Championship, WWE Championship, NJPW’s IWGP Heavyweight Championship, UFC Heavyweight Championship and NCAA Championship. Apart from that, Lesnar has received a plethora of accolades throughout his career and his relentless spirit for greatness is what separates him from the rest.</p>



<p>Brock won the <strong>NCAA Division-I Championship</strong> while attending the University of Minnesota in 2000.</p>



<p>In 2002, five months after his debut on WWE’s main roster, Lesnar won the <strong>WWE (Undisputed) Championship</strong> by defeating The Rock at SummerSlam.</p>



<p>During his stint in New Japan Pro Wrestling, The Beast captured the <strong>IWGP Heavyweight Championship</strong> in his debut Tripe Threat Match against Kazuyuki Fujita and Masahiro Chono.</p>



<p>The Conqueror won the <strong>UFC Heavyweight Championship</strong> by defeating Randy Couture by TKO at UFC 91 (November 15, 2008).</p>



<p>Lesnar won the <strong>Universal Championship</strong> from Goldberg at WrestleMania 33 and is now the longest reigning Universal Champion of all time as well as the longest singles reigning champion of the Modern Era at 450+ days.</p>

<p>Before his professional career, Lesnar won the NCAA Division I College Wrestling Championship as a senior at the University of Minnesota in 2000. After University, the Coach of the Indianapolis Colts offered Lesnar a tryout but the latter rejected it for a WWE contract which offered more guaranteed money on the table.</p>



<p>Although the details of the deal still remain undisclosed to this date, WWE’s “Next big Thing” said,</p>



<p>“I signed the biggest developmental deal in WWE history.”</p>

<p>At SummerSlam 2002, Brock Lesnar defeated The Rock for the WWE (Undisputed) Championship. At the age of 25, Lesnar created history by breaking The Rock’s own record and becoming the youngest WWE Champion. With that, Lesnar also became the second fastest wrestler to ever become World Champion.</p>



<p>Lesnar’s rise to the top in just 126 days stands second to Ric Flair’s feat who became World Champion in just 113 days since his main roster debut. Had the title not been split into the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships immediately after The Anomaly captured it, he might have cemented himself as the fastest-earning and longest-reigning Undisputed Champion of all time.</p>



<p>In 2003, Lesnar (25) became the youngest wrestler to ever win a Royal Rumble.</p>

<p>Lesnar has a massive tattoo of a sword across his entire chest. The Beast got that tattoo in 2005 shortly after leaving WWE during a highly stressful phase in his life. In his book “Death Clutch: My Story of Determination, Domination, and Survival”, Lesnar explains, “I felt like life was holding a sword right up against my throat, so I went under the ink gun because I never wanted to forget exactly how I felt at that time” he explains.</p>



<p>“The tattoo on my chest has so much meaning to me. In some ways, it’s funny, because the period of my life that I’m talking about is a time I so want to forget, but I know I can use this memory as motivation.”</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">5.&nbsp;Refused To Accept Japanese Wrestling Tradition</h2>

<p>Although it may sound weird, there is this certain tradition among Gaijin grapplers wrestling in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) for the first time to get slapped across the face by Japanese wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer <strong>Antonio Inoki</strong>.</p>



<p>While most of the young foreign talent views this tradition as a show of respect and honour, the Beast Incarnate flatly refused to partake in this “ritual”. In his autobiography “Death Clutch: My Story of Determination, Domination, and Survival”, Lesnar wrote about Inoki, “No one was going to slap me. Not Inoki. Not anyone. They got the point.”</p>

<p>Lesnar is a Republican conservative and has some strong views about former POTUS Barack Obama and Obamacare. Brock revealed his terrible experience with the Canadian healthcare system while he was battling a life-threatening disease, diverticulitis. He said that the healthcare he received in Canada made him feel as if he was in some third world nation and went on to express his satisfaction the American healthcare system and praised Obamacare.</p>



<p>Brock said, “The only reason I’m mentioning this is – I’m mentioning this to the United States of America, because President Obama is pushing this health-care reform, and obviously I don’t want it. I’m a conservative Republican. … I’m speaking on behalf of Americans. I’m speaking on behalf of our doctors in the U.S. that don’t want this to happen, and neither do I.”</p>

<p>Although he is hailed as the most dominant athlete in all of combat sports, Lesnar actually fell prey to alcohol and painkillers following a series of injuries and high levels of stress associated with WWE’s ever-demanding road schedule. &nbsp;According to Lesnar, he drank a bottle of vodka a day at one point. He was also involved in the infamous mid-air fight with fellow WWE wrestler, “Curt “Mr. Perfect” Hennig, dubbed “The Plane Ride From Hell.”</p>



<p>The Beast says of the fight, “It was full of booze and Vicodin and being stuck on an airplane for seven hours on an overseas trip. What else are you gonna do? Besides maybe pass out and fall asleep or get into trouble. We did both. We got into a scuffle on the plane.”</p>







<h2 class="wp-block-heading">8.&nbsp;Won His WWE Debut Match By TKO</h2>

<p>Lesnar debuted on WWF television on March 18, 2002 on Raw&nbsp;as a&nbsp;villain, attacking&nbsp;Al Snow,&nbsp;Maven&nbsp;and&nbsp;Spike Dudley&nbsp;during their Hardcore Match, while also being accompanied by Paul Heyman, who was seen giving instructions to Lesnar. Lesnar laid waste to all three of them; delivered a Spinebuster to Al Snow, F5-ed Maven and broke Spike Dudley in half courtesy of a Triple Powerbomb. When the&nbsp;brand extension&nbsp;was introduced in the WWF, Lesnar was&nbsp;drafted&nbsp;to the Raw&nbsp;brand. Later, Heyman was confirmed to be Lesnar&#8217;s agent and gave Lesnar the nickname &#8220;The Next Big Thing&#8221;.</p>



<p>Brock’s first&nbsp;feud&nbsp;was with&nbsp;The Hardy Boyz&nbsp;and Lesnar defeated&nbsp;Jeff Hardy&nbsp;by&nbsp;knockout (TKO)&nbsp;after Hardy was unable to respond to&nbsp;then-referee&nbsp;Theodore Long&nbsp;at&nbsp;Backlash&nbsp;on April 21, 2002, his first official televised match.</p>

<p>Color blindness is an inherited problem in the development of one or more of the three sets of&nbsp;color&nbsp;sensing cones in the eye.&nbsp;Studies show that 1 in every 12 men is color-blind. It turns out Brock is a color-blind Beast, although that doesn’t matter given the fact that most deadly predators in the animal kingdom do not conceive the full color spectrum either.</p>



<p>Most people who are colour-blind are able to see things clearly as others who are not affected by that disease, but are unable to distinguish certain colors such as blue and yellow or red and green. Lesnar is red-green color-blind, an impairment that affects approximately 8% of all males. By far the most&nbsp;common form of color-blindness, it not only prevents people from distinguishing between red and green but also changes how they see the entire color spectrum.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">10.&nbsp;Nicknamed After A Vegetable</h2>

<p>As much dominating, terrifying and humongous Lesnar appears inside the ring, The Beast seems to have his own share of humor as well. According to Brock’s childhood friend Justin Gaikowski, he has a hilarious nickname. And it appears that Lesnar shares that name with a green vegetable!</p>



<p>In 2003 WWE DVD, “Brock Lesnar: Here Comes The Pain”, Gaikowski said, ““I used to call him ‘Broccoli’. When you’re young, nobody likes to eat broccoli. I’d be like, ‘Hey, Broccoli! You’ve got bad taste!’ ”</p>



<p>Imagine what Lesnar would possibly do to Roman Reigns if The Big Dog deliberately calls him “Broccoli” on camera.</p>

<p>Lesnar joined the National Guard at the age of 17 after a military recruiter visited his school and ended up signing him and his friend. Although Brock wanted to be in the military amongst battles and explosives, he was pretty much saddled with his desk job (due to his color-blindness) that led him to quit and began training as a wrestler.</p>

<p>The World’s Largest Athlete, The Big Show squared off against the 10-most career championships (11) holder in the world, Akebono Tarō at WrestleMania XXI in a Sumo Match. However, it was not all roses for Show as Akebono defeated him with a koshinage and threw The Giant entirely out of the ring.</p>



<p>On March 19, 2006 (less than a year after his showdown with Big Show), Akebono challenged Brock Lesnar for the IWGP Heavyweight Title. Lesnar wrestled the 500-pound behemoth and unlike Show, actually defeated the Sumo and successfully defended his title.</p>

<p>Lesnar upset a lot of MMA fans and purists with his inclusion in the highest level in the UFC given he did not have the MMA experience that his peers in the UFC did. However, with Dana White smelling business, a name like Lesnar would inevitably tear down the box-office numbers, generating a plethora of sold-out Pay-Per-Views within the first few minutes of ticket sales. The Beast’s viewing numbers stand taller than Georges St-Pierre and Anderson Silva.</p>



<p>Lesnar holds the record for 1.6 million PPV for UFC 100 which also stands among the top 5 grossing UFC Pay-Per-Views of all time. Brock has also headlined 3 of the top 10 highest UFC fight cards of all time.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">14.&nbsp;Lost Clean To Only 5 WWE Superstars In Singles Matches</h2>

<p>Till date, only 5 wrestlers in WWE have managed to beat Lesnar clean in singles action. Bill Goldberg (Survivor Series 2016), John Cena (Extreme Rules 2012), Triple H (WrestleMania 29), Eddie Guerrero (No Way Out 2004), Kurt Angle (SummerSlam 2003) are the “Famous Five” who have defeated The Beast clean inside a WWE ring.</p>

<p>While attending the University of Minnesota, Brock crossed paths with another future WWE Superstar, 3-time Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin, who was also attending the same University. What’s more interesting is Shelton was actually Lesnar’s roommate during their time at the University!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">16. Lesnar&nbsp;Almost Died From Diverticulitis</h2>

<p>Lesnar almost died from Diverticulitis, a disease that attacked him when he was hunting in Manitoba, Canada in 2009. The disease causes pouches in the large intestine to become inflamed or infected and The Beast almost died because the doctors initially could not find out what was wrong with him. He also contracted mono at the same time.</p>



<p>Miraculously, Brock did not have to undergo surgery as antibiotics and a diet change helped. The disease attacked him again in 2011 and this time Lesnar had to go under the knife and got a 12 inch piece of colon removed.</p>







<h2 class="wp-block-heading">17.&nbsp;Married To WWE Diva Sable</h2>

<p>Lesnar is happily married to former WWE Diva Sable. Brock met his future wife when Sable returned to WWE after parting ways with the company. The couple got married in 2006 and have two sons together named Duke Lesnar and Turke Lesnar.&nbsp; Brock also has two children, namely Luke Lesnar and Mya Lynn Lesnar, from his previous relationship with ex-girlfriend Nicole McClain.</p>

<p>Initially Lesnar’s signature move used to be the Shooting Star Press. But Curt Hennig warned The Beast that he would have a short career if he kept doing it. After almost paralyzing himself by performing the Shooting Star Press, Brock changed his signature for the F-5.</p>

<p>The Streak&nbsp;was a series of 21 straight victories for&nbsp;The Undertaker&nbsp;at WrestleMania that began in 1991. At WrestleMania XXX, The Undertaker finally battled Brock Lesnar in a 1-on-1 showdown. After one Kimura Lock and three F-5s, Lesnar pinned The Undertaker to end the undefeated WrestleMania streak, silencing and shocking the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in the process. The Streak: 21-1. History was made.</p>
