The past year featured some of the most unbelievable moments to ever happen in a WWE ring. Let’s take a look at some of the best WWE moments that defined 2019, in no particular order.
Batista Attacks Ric Flair
The Animal Batista returned for one final feud in WWE (or at least that’s what he said), when he attacked Ric Flair during the latter’s birthday celebration in February. Attacking Triple H’s mentor to catch his attention was a major moment, which set up a rivalry between the two former best friends.
Batista and Triple H are two of the biggest names from the Ruthless Aggression Era, and they finally settled their matters inside the ring at WrestleMania 35, as the Game reigned supreme.
Batista’s long career in wrestling finally reached its climax with a match that wasn’t wrestling masterclass but was highly enjoyable nonetheless. With a successful movie career behind him, Batista never needed to return to wrestling for any reason other than his immense love for the wrestling business, and he gave one final brutal performance to end his storied career.
CM Punk Returns To WWE Programming
CM Punk left wrestling in January 2014, but his name became forever etched in the minds of professional wrestling fans. The CM Punk chants never died down, even though a return of the Cult of Personality seemed highly impossible.
However, the former WWE Champion shocked the world when he made a return to WWE programming when he appeared on WWE Backstage in November. Punk joined the team of the weekly talk show as an analyst, and it sent the wrestling world into a frenzy.
Punk appears part-time on the show and is already teasing a feud with Seth Rollins. Punk is currently one of the top favorites to win the Royal Rumble, although he has vehemently denied any association with WWE.
