24-Year-Old Fan Arrested for Attempted Kidnapping of Sonya Deville

Sonya Deville is among the most promising Superstars in the WWE women’s division and has been in the spotlight for quite some time.

Tampa Bay Times is reporting that on Sunday morning, a fan named Phillip A. Thomas II was arrested outside Deville’s home. The 24-year-old individual from South Carolina has been charged with aggravated stalking, armed burglary of a dwelling, attempted armed kidnapping, and criminal mischief.

According to the police, Thomas had crafted the abduction plan for eight months. On Saturday midnight, he parked his car and walked to Deville’s home following which he cut a hole in the patio screen and remained on the property for three to four hours, watching and listening through the window. It’s believed that Deville and her friend were watching the UFC fights at the time.

At around 2:45, after Deville went to bed, Thomas entered through a sliding glass door, which immediately triggered the alarm. The kidnapper was spotted by Deville who left with her friend in a car and also called 911.

The 24-year-old man was still on Deville’s property when the police arrived and “was carrying a knife, plastic zip ties, duct tape, mace and other items, and told deputies he was planning to take the homeowner hostage.”

In his official statement, Sheriff Chad Chronister noted:

“Our deputies are unveiling the suspect’s disturbing obsession with this homeowner who he had never met, but stalked on social media for years. It’s frightening to think of all the ways this incident could have played out had the home alarm not gone off and alerted the homeowner of an intruder.”

Thomas is currently being held without bail.

Deville took to Twitter to thank everyone for their well-wishes and lauded the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for their prompt response.

Deville is scheduled to face Mandy Rose in a Hair vs. Hair match this Sunday at SummerSlam.
