WWE Evolution is now merely two weeks away and whilst the card has started to take shape on the main roster with Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch’s title defenses announced this week, but the same can’t be said for the NXT brand.
The only match that has been announced for the show from the developmental brand at present is the Championship match between Kairi Sane and Shayna Baszler and whilst the likes of Lacey Evans, Bianca Belair, Candice LeRae and Dakota Kai have all been advertised to be part of the show along with Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke, there are many women who could miss out.
Stephanie McMahon originally announced that more than 50 women would be part of the historic show since a women’s battle royal is expected to be part of the show.
According to The Wrestling Observer, this part of McMahon’s announcement has been downplayed over the past few weeks and there are a number of women who are part of the NXT brand who could miss out.
It was expected that all active female superstars on all three rosters as well as many returning legends would make up the field for the show, but this now might not be the case.
WWE has only officially announced a handful of matches for the show which happens on October 28th and there appears to be very little build up to any other matches that will be announced in the coming weeks.
Reports from Barnburner also suggest that Stephanie McMahon will be part of the show and her sole role will be to unveil the Women’s Tag Team Championships, but it also puts McMahon in the building and could see her cost Ronda Rousey her Women’s Championship in the main event.
