AEW presented the Casino Battle Royale as part of their All Out pay-per-view and, as expected, the match included a number of shocks.
Perhaps the most obvious was the fact that Matt Sydal made his debut in the company as The Joker and the 21st entrant in the match.
Sydal will be memorable to a number of WWE fans as Evan Bourne, and he made quite the impression when he slipped off the top rope the moment he stepped into the ring.
Sonny Kiss went on to eliminate Jake Hager in another huge shock, while Brian Cage zipped Darby Allin up into a bodybag full of thumbtacks and dumped him over the top rope.
Sydal eliminated a number of stars enroute to the final four and showed the fans in attendance in Jacksonville that he will be a star worth watching on Dynamite.
The final four were Lance Archer, The Butcher, Eddie Kingston, and Matt Sydal before Butcher was quickly eliminated by AEW’s newest recruit before he was eliminated by Kingston.
In the end, it was Lance Archer who picked up the victory and will now be given a shot at the AEW World Championship after Jake “The Snake” Roberts at ringside with his pet snake helped Archer to distract Kingston and handed Archer the victory.
