‘The Undertaker: Last Ride’ has received great acclaim for its presentation and a deeper take into the career of the Deadman whose life has always remained a mystery outside his in-ring persona.
The Undertaker and Kurt Angle sent the wrestling world into a frenzy when both the individuals agreed to do the Starrcast II convention last year, which coincided with the AEW Double or Nothing PPV.
The convention wasn’t officially an AEW event though it was generally seen as one.
A report from Fightful states that WWE’s next episode in this serious will feature references to AEW and Starrcast, as the Deadman talks about how he ended up taking up the deal in the first place.
It remains to be seen how much references they make to the rival promotion, which has been taking down NXT almost every week in ratings for the last few months.
Both the stars were pulled off from the convention later, but the initial announcement was enough to convince the fans that the two legends could possibly be in AEW at some time in the future.
This incident strained the relationship between McMahon and Taker, which is discussed in length in the episode, set to air this Sunday after the Backlash PPV.
The Undertaker recently signed a fifteen-year long deal with the company, which will essentially see him retire in WWE and enjoy a legends contract, similar to Ric Flair, and Hulk Hogan.
