The passing of Brodie Lee has saddened the wrestling community. Lee had many great friends in WWE and AEW.
Although WWE did show a graphic acknowledging Lee’s passing, the wrestling juggernaut didn’t do a traditional 10-bell salute or show a video package for the wrestler, and many fans called out WWE for this.
On the other hand, AEW’s president Tony Khan has informed the fans that the next episode of Dynamite on December 30 will be a special tribute show for Lee. Khan also said that the show is intended to honor Brodie’s wife and his children as well.
The original plan was to do New Year’s Smash on December 30 and January 6. However, these special editions of Dynamite are brought forward by one week. Now the New Year’s Smash will begin on January 6 and end next week on January 13.
Lee’s son (Brodie Lee Jr.) also “won” the AEW World Championship during a dark segment after Dynamite had gone off air on December 17.
Khan announced that Lee Jr.’s favorite wrestlers Cody Rhodes, Orange Cassidy, and Preston Vance will team up to face Team Taz this week on Dynamite.
