AEW continues buffing up their roster, by announcing the signing of Tay Conti to the company.
Conti, who debuted in AEW during the AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup, previously wrestled for WWE NXT.
Conti was the first Brazilian female star to perform at WrestleMania, and after nearly three years in the company, she was released earlier this year as part of the company-wide budget cuts.
Conti teamed up with Dark Order’s Anna Jay during the tournament and defeated Ariane Andrew and Nyla Rose in the first round before losing to Diamante and Ivelisse in the semi-finals.
Conti made another appearance recently on Dynamite, when Jay offered her to join the Dark Order, seemingly confirming her as a new addition to the heel stable.
Conti has tremendous Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu background and even participated in trials for Brazil’s team at Summer Olympics 2016.
Conti competed in the inaugural Mae Young Classic back in 2017 and the second edition in 2018, losing in the first round and second round respectively.
AEW also announced Tay Conti vs Nyla Rose for this week’s Dynamite episode.
