All Elite Wrestling’s Double or Nothing PPV had three titles on the lines, with one being a brand new title introduced for the mid-card of the company. The TNT Championship was introduced a few months ago, and the finals of the eight-man tournament took place at the PPV, which saw Cody Rhodes take on Lance Archer.
The match had Iron Mike Tyson at ringside to present the winner of the match with the brand new championship. The WWE Hall of Famer made his first wrestling appearance in years and looked great as usual.
Mike Tyson supported Cody throughout the match and later on prevented Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts from introducing his trademark snake into the ring. Cody Rhodes eventually won the match with the Cross-Rhodes and celebrated with Tyson post-match as the fireworks went off.
The new TNT Championship’s design came under the scanner, but AEW clarified by saying it is merely a temporary design and will have gold plates added soon.
Cody Rhodes won his first title in AEW, and it was also the first defeat for the mighty Lance Archer, who looked invincible until this point. Rhodes, who has promised to never fight for the AEW World Championship again after his defeat to Chris Jericho at Full Gear, will be carrying the mid-card for the foreseeable future.
Another major title change at the PPV saw Hikaru Shida defeat Nyla Rose for the AEW Women’s Championship. Shida has arguably been the best wrestler in the Women’s Division and is undefeated in 2020.
Rose won the title back in February from Riho but hasn’t been in action much on Dynamite. This was Rose’s second defense, after retaining over Kris Statlander at AEW Revolution in February.
Shida will most likely have Britt Baker as her future challenger, but Baker is currently out of injury after wrecking her knee last week on Dynamite.
