AEW Dynamite: Brodie Lee Wins TNT Championship

AEW Dynamite took place on Saturday this week due to TNT’s scheduling conflicts, and the show went head-to-head with Takeover XXX. Dynamite had a decent card for the show with a major TNT Championship match between Brodie Lee and the defending champion Cody.

Cody lost the title in quick fashion against the Exalted One, as he could barely get any offense in during the match. Lee demolished the champion and hit the Discus Clothesline for the win.

Lee continued his strong run in AEW so far, as he has currently lost just one match, against Jon Moxley at Double or Nothing.

After the match, Lee stood tall with his Dark Order members, who beat down Cody’s coach Arn Anderson. Lee took down Cody, who was being stretchered out of the arena and beat him down, throwing pieces of the old TNT title at him.

Lee then asked Dark Order’s newest member, Anna Jay, to take out Brandi Rhodes. Jay applied the rear-naked choke on Rhodes to end the show.

Lee, who joined the company earlier this year, has been booked quite dominantly so far, and this will be his first title reign in the company.

Cody, the inaugural TNT Champion, had a great run with the title, as he defended the title almost every week with a variety of challengers. Cody defeated Lance Archer at Double or Nothing to capture the title.

It remains to be seen if Lee continues the weekly defense of the title which Cody followed for the last few months.
