AEW Dynamite: Cody Rhodes vs Jake Hager Set For Fyter Fest, Title Matches Announced For Next Week

Cody Rhodes continued his streak of defending the brand new TNT Championship in open challenges every week, and this week, he reigned supreme over Marq Quen of the Private Party in a rather hotly contested encounter.

Post-match, Rhodes was attacked by Jake Hager, and a brawl broke out with Private Party, Rhodes, and Matt Hardy taking on the Inner Circle.

Cody took a mic and challenged Hager for a match at Fyter Fest, which was accepted by the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Cody’s troubles with the Inner Circle go back almost a year, and he will look to exact revenge at the two-week event next month.

Fyter Fest will also feature Jon Moxley defending his AEW World Championship against Brian Cage, while Hangman Page and Kenny Omega are set to face off against Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent Baretta) with their AEW World Tag Team Titles on the line.

Cody is also set to defend his TNT Championship next week on Dynamite, with the opponent yet to be named.

Best Friends could also be facing a different set of opponents at Fyter Fest, as Page and Omega will be putting their titles on the line against QT Marshall and Dustin Rhodes on next week’s show.
