The Wednesday Night Wars had a very different flavor this week. AEW brought Fight For The Fallen while WWE NXT aired a regular episode. Quite naturally, it turned out to be a one-sided contest as AEW easily beat WWE NXT by a wide margin.
According to Showbuzz Daily, AEW garnered an overnight two hour average of 788,000 with a 0.29 rating in the 18-49 demographic. On the other hand, NXT only managed 631,000 viewers watching at home and earned a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
At Fight For The Fallen, Chris Jericho addressed the rating war between WWE and AEW and labeled himself as the Demo God.
NXT The Great American Bash defeated AEW Fyter Fest in viewership for two consecutive weeks but suffered a defeat in the 18-49 demographic.
The respective go-home edition of the two-night PPVs saw NXT thrash Dynamite completely. The WWE show garnered 786,000 viewers with a 0.19 in the 18-49 demographic while the AEW show brought in 633,000 fans with a 0.22 rating.
AEW had the momentum rolling the week prior to that. With 772,00 viewers with a 0.28 rating in the 18-49 demographic, Dynamite squashed NXT’s 746,000 and 0.20 rating.
The Wednesday Night Wars have heated up already, and with the constant momentum shift between both sides, it would be interesting to see which show/company comes out on top when all is said and done.
