AEW presented Fight for the Fallen this week, after two weeks of Fyter Fest which saw the company lose out to NXT’s Great American Bash in overall ratings. AEW managed to secure a win in the 18-49 demo, but the third brand of WWE beat them in all demos combined.
AEW had to schedule another event because of Jon Moxley’s absence last week. Moxley made his return and took down Brian Cage in the main event. Moxley wasn’t the only star who returned to AEW, as Darby Allin made his much-awaited return to AEW programming. Allin has been absent since Double or Nothing PPV back in May.
Allin participated in the Ladder Match at DoN, which saw Cage make his debut and win the opportunity to fight against Moxley. Cage brutally attacked Alllin during the match, which kept him out of action for an extended period.
Allin made the save for Jon Moxley after a furious Cage started beating up the champion following his loss in the main event. Allin attacked Cage with a skateboard, as the FTW Champion retreated with Taz.
AEW also debuted Vickie Guerrero as Nyla Rose’s manager this week. Rose promised to bring in a manager after seeing the success of Cody, Lance Archer and Brian Cage, and a popular name from the late 2000s WWE. Guerrero, who starred as manager and love interests of several wrestlers in WWE, made her return to the business with the former Women’s Champion.
With several stars injured in the AEW Women’s Division, Nyla Rose looks set to compete against Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s Championship once again. Guerrero is known for her over-the-top personality and great heel mannerisms, which will help Rose rise up the ladder in the Women’s Division once again.
