AEW Full Gear: MJF Defeats Chris Jericho, Joins Inner Circle

MJF and Wardlow are now part of Chris Jericho’s faction, the Inner Circle.

MJF has been teasing wanting to be part of the Inner Circle for some time now, going out of the way to compliment Jericho and curry favor with the rest of the Inner Circle with gifts.

During an episode of Dynamite, a Town Hall segment ended with MJF asking what else did he need to do to prove that he was worthy of being part of the Inner Circle. Jericho’s answer was that MJF would have to beat him in a match at Full Gear.

The Full Gear match ended with the two exchanging some of their best moves, before MJF’s bodyguard Wardlow tried to give MJF his Dynamite Diamond Ring. MJF has used the ring as a weapon before.

Jericho tried to counter by grabbing his bat Floyd, but the referee put a stop to it. The opportunistic MJF was able to roll up a distracted Jericho to get the three-count for the win.

After the match, Jericho and MJF shook hands and hugged. Jericho then said that MJF and Wardlow were now welcome into the Inner Circle.

No word yet as to what the rest of the Inner Circle thinks about their new members. At least two members, Sammy Guevara and Ortiz have remained hostile to the idea, thinking it’s a trick and MJF is plotting a betrayal.
