AEW Fight for the Fallen took place last night from Jacksonville, Florida, and once again, AEW hit all the right spots with the PPV. Almost all the top superstars including Kenny Omega, Cody, Adam Page and Young Bucks took part in the event which received rave reviews overall.
However, two superstars from the AEW roster apparently suffered injuries during the show. Britt Baker, who teamed up with Rhio to fight against debutants Bea Priestley and Shoko Nakajima, suffered a concussion during the match.
The referee for the match Aubrey Edwards tweeted that she lost her earrings after the show. Britt Baker replied with a tweet of her own, thanking Edwards for helping her out after she was concussed. This is the second time AEW has had a concussion scare after Cody was busted open by Shawn Spears at Fyter Fest.
Elsewhere in the Men’s division, rising superstar Maxwell Jacob Friedman, popularly known as MJF, suffered an elbow injury during his 6-Man Tag Team encounter. He was scheduled to defend his Pure Prestige Championship on Sunday against Ricky Stars at an Inspire Pro Wrestling event. MJF is scheduled to appear at AAA’s TripleMania next week and is expected to wrestle at that event.
However, due to his injury, Inspire Pro Wrestling have announced that M.J.F will vacate his title as he shall soon become exclusive to All Elite Wrestling.
Two injuries in one night is not good news for AEW setup, and they must try to avoid such incidents once their weekly programming kicks off on TNT. AEW is still starting off and their roster is thin. Injuries could be a major setback for the company with such a limited roster, and they should try to curb the high-intense action to avoid such injuries in the future.
