Aiden English Reveals Hundreds Of Backstage Staff Also Lost Their Jobs As Part Of Yesterday’s Talent Cull

Aiden English was one of the stars who received the phone call yesterday that meant that he had been released by WWE after finding a home as part of the company for more than six years. English has more recently been seen on commentary which means that he has been working closely with backstage staff, many of whom lost their jobs yesterday.

While all of the talent releases were made public, Vince McMahon warned that there would be budget cuts across the board, which means that there were members of the company, creative team, and backstage staff that received the same call yesterday and are now without a job in the midst of a pandemic.

“It’s about the people you guys didn’t hear about that wasn’t reported. The hundreds of employees in our corporate that are in the same situation now. The behind-the-scenes personnel who are all incredibly talented. It’s a rough one and that’s on top of the thousands of people around this country and even more untold numbers around the world who are in similar or even worse situations because of what is going on in the world.”

“This is a defining moment in our history and for certain individuals that were part of everything yesterday but is a scary time in the world, but this is a time that shows us who we really are. That’s why I’m here to get up, step up, move up do whatever it takes. These are the times that show you who you are as a person. The credo that we’re all in this together is more true than ever. I know it’s hard, I want to thank you guys for your support.”

It has been rumored that there have been a number of other on-screen releases overnight and there are still many more to come.
