Aiden English teamed with Rusev on last night’s SmackDown as the duo took on The Bar for a place in Sunday’s Tag Team Championship match against The New Day.
As part of the match, English pushed Rusev out of the way of a Brogue Kick and sacrificed himself which led to the win but didn’t see English come out of the match unscathed.
English posted the following image on Instagram where he called his bruises “Battle Scars” and deemed that they were “worth it” since Hell In A Cell falls on Rusev Day.
Wrestlers are aware of the risks the minute they step foot in the ring and cuts and bruises are common especially when stepping in the ring with the likes of Cesaro and Sheamus.
Aiden has climbed his way up through the ranks in WWE over the past few years and is a former NXT Tag Team Champion, but since his partner Simon Gotch was released from the company following last year’s WrestleMania, English has been struggling to remain relevant.
Teaming with Rusev has allowed English to reignite his career on SmackDown Live in recent months and now the duo finally has the chance to lift the Tag Team Championships on Sunday night when they take on The New Day.
WWE stars have shared their battle scars over the past few years and it could be argued that English’s aren’t as bad as a number of other stars who seemingly leave it all in the ring. It was a brutal match between The Bar and Rusev Day on SmackDown last night and there were always going to be a few cuts and bruises coming out of it.
