Aleister Black recently lost his NXT Championship to Tommaso Ciampa because of interference from Johnny Gargano, which is why General Manager William Regal announced last night on NXT that the match at Takeover would be a triple threat for the Championship.
Merely an hour after the announcement was made, breaking news on WWE.com was that Black had been attacked in the parking lot and was found unconscious.
There was no one in sight to take responsibility for this beatdown, but it is thought that this could be the way that WWE write Black out of the title match next weekend.

It has become common knowledge that the former Champion has been struggling with a groin injury and was recently forced to undergo surgery, which could see him forced to pull out of his contracted rematch for the title next weekend.
PWInsider is reporting that rather than put someone else into the match with Ciampa and Gargano in Brooklyn, WWE could instead decide to leave it as a singles match and make this the third consecutive time that the former tag team Champions have collided on pay-per-view, but the first time over the Championship.
With just over a week to go until the biggest weekend of the Summer, the fact that WWE has added in Black’s attack means that it’s highly unlikely that he will be making it to Brooklyn.
Ciampa and Gargano have already stolen a number of shows in NXT as their bitter feud has become the centerpiece for the developmental brand over the past seven months, but this will be the first time both men have collided for the NXT Championship and it could easily steal the show once again.
