Aleister Black recently underwent groin surgery and was reported to be out of the match at Takeover a few days ago.
WWE had to write Black out of the show this week so he was attacked in the parking lot and left unconscious following this week’s NXT tapings and it was recently confirmed that due to these injuries he wouldn’t be able to compete next weekend.
This week on NXT, General Manager William Regal announced that Tommaso Ciampa would defend his NXT Championship against Aleister Black and Johnny Gargano in Brooklyn.
But the match has now been changed to a Last Man Standing Match between Gargano and Ciampa since it was confirmed that former Champion Aleister Black won’t be able to take part in his contractual rematch.

The former Tag Team Champions definitely have history following their split last year and only recently collided in a Chicago Street Fight at Takeover: Chicago a few months ago.
Ciampa won the match which leveled the score between the two men, but this will be the first time they have collided in a Last Man Standing Match for the NXT Championship.
NXT Takeover: Brooklyn takes place the night before SummerSlam next Sunday night and the card is already looking stacked with Shayna Baszler defending her Women’s Championship against Kairi Sane, who remains the only woman to have ever pinned the former MMA star.
The Undisputed Era defends their Tag Team Championships against Moustache Mountain and Adam Cole defends the North American Championship against Ricochet.
EC3 also collides against Velveteen Dream in a match that has the potential to steal the show after an interesting feud between the two NXT heavyweights.
