Aleister Black became the first man on Monday Night Raw to qualify for the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match this week when he was able to defeat Austin Theory with a thunderous Black Mass.
The win came despite interference from Zelina Vega, who joined Byron Saxton, Jerry Lawler and Tom Phillips to provide interesting commentary throughout. This came just after Theory and Angel Garza refused to follow instructions given to them from Vega, who was looking to help Andrade overcome the threat of Drew McIntyre.
As of writing, Daniel Bryan and Aleister Black are the only two men to have qualified for the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, while the women’s match has already seen Dana Brooke qualify from SmackDown while Raw’s Asuka, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler have already qualified for their place in the match which is set to take place on May 10th.
Baszler qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match last week on Raw when she seemingly broke Sarah Logan’s arm and made it so that the former Riott Squad member was unable to continue, so she won the match via forfeit.
This week, The Cagefighter continued the same streak when she took on NXT star Indy Hartwell after her opponent gained the upperhand, Baszler snapped and delivering a thunderous kick to the arm which once again forced the referee to end the match.
The Submission Magician refused to walk away and instead continued the assault after the bell when The Queen of Spades picked up a ladder and trapped her opponent’s arm inside the weapon before kicking through it.
This was an obvious message to the women who are stepping inside the Women’s Ladder match with Baszler next month, as the former NXT Women’s Champion continues her reign of terror on Raw.
