Former MLW World Champion Alex Hammerstone has shed light on his quiet exit from TNA Wrestling, citing a lack of communication, creative direction, and growing disillusionment during his short tenure with the company.



Speaking on The Takedown podcast, Hammerstone said that after signing with TNA in March 2024, he began to feel overlooked creatively and left “in the dark” about plans for his future.

“I felt like the company stopped caring about me… I would’ve appreciated a conversation about what they wanted, but I never got that,” Hammerstone said, noting that he often had to chase answers while others were clearly positioned in storylines.

The former National Openweight Champion added that things became more apparent when he was left off promotional material, including posters and highlight reels. He was also snubbed from TNA’s End of Year Awards despite a standout match with Josh Alexander that many fans praised online.

“Just put me on the poll. Even if I lose, I want to be in the conversation,” Hammerstone said, reflecting on the emotional toll. “It’s not to say I ever gave up, but mentally, I just felt beat down.”

Hammerstone’s last TNA match aired March 13, a loss to Joe Hendry on iMPACT! in a title match. It came after recovering from knee surgery that had sidelined him since November.



Now a free agent, Hammerstone recently returned to MLW at Battle Riot VII and says he’s happy with his decision. While he’s not under contract, he’s exploring new opportunities and looking to rebuild his momentum in the ring.
