Alexa Bliss hasn’t stepped into a WWE ring since Hell in a Cell when she was injured in her Raw Women’s Championship match against Ronda Rousey.
Bliss was then pulled from action since she suffered too many concussions in a short space of time and the company decided to then monitor her but allow her to remain on TV whilst she wasn’t cleared for action.
Bliss was one of the fastest rising stars in the company at one point after taking over the main roster following her promotion from NXT but she was forced to miss out on a dream match against Trish Stratus and Lita at Evolution last year through injury and could now be sidelined for the Women’s Royal Rumble as well.
Bliss was unable to perform at last year’s Royal Rumble since she was the Women’s Champion at the time, which later led to a WrestleMania match between Bliss and her former friend Nia Jax. It was thought that she would be cleared to compete for a few minutes as part of this years show, but this might not be the case.
Brad Shepard recently reported on the Oh, You Didn’t Know podcast that Bliss’ future is much murkier than many fans are aware.
“Things with Alexa Bliss are ‘murky’ at the moment. So you know she’s been posting some Instagram videos of her working out and we’ll see how that evolves, but I’ve been told by a source in the company that things are murky at the moment,” he said via Ringsidenews.
Shepard made it clear that Bliss hadn’t fallen out of favor with Vince McMahon, but her future in the ring was still undetermined, which could be why she is still yet to be announced for the Royal Rumble match which is now less than three weeks away.
