All Elite Wrestling is still a new company, and almost every week there is an announcement of a new addition to the ever-growing AEW family. The latest to join the team is WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson, who will work in the capacity of a head coach backstage.

Anderson was also announced as Cody Rhodes‘ personal advisor and will be in Cody’s corner during his match against Darby Allin on the New Year show of AEW.

To wrap AEW’s inaugural year, Cody today announced that legendary wrestler Arn Anderson will be Cody’s personal advisor and head coach for the 2020 season, starting with the New Year’s Day DYNAMITE show in Jacksonville, Fla.

Arn Anderson is one of the biggest legends in the wrestling industry, having been part of some of the most iconic storylines all those years ago. Anderson served with WWE for a long time before being fired earlier this year, after he allegedly allowed Alicia Fox to perform while being intoxicated.

Anderson appeared on AEW All Out earlier this year and delivered his signature picture-perfect Spinebuster to Cody’s opponent, Shawn Spears. Spears has since teamed up with Anderson’s partner from his Four Horsemen days, Tully Blanchard.

Cody, who is facing Darby Allin after wrestling him to a time-limit draw at AEW Fyter Fest a few months ago, said that he was excited to have a person of Anderson’s stature in the company.

“I still want to collect all the accolades I can and dominate the singles division. That’s why I’m bringing in Arn Anderson as my personal advisor and head coach. He has been in business with my family for over three decades. Having been a wrestler through so many different generations of talent, he understands what ingredients it takes to look beyond the horizon and produce the best content and results.”

AEW already has some of the finest wrestling minds in the business backstage, and the addition of yet another experienced name will only help them to further elevate their shows in the new decade.
