Assault and Kidnapping Charges Against Former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio Have Been Dropped

The woman who had accused Alberto Del Rio of sexual assault and kidnapping has dropped the charges.

A grand jury in Texas had indicted Del Rio last month for one count of aggravated kidnapping and four counts of sexual assault. However, the charges have now reportedly been dropped and Del Rio’s accuser has issued an apology on social media.

News of the charges being dropped was initially reported in the Spanish wrestling site Mas Lucha. The woman who accused Del Rio reportedly apologized to Del Rio and his family on Instagram.

The woman’s Instagram apology reportedly translates to: “I apologize to the Rodriguez Del Rio family for the damages caused by my errors.”

While Del Rio has yet to comment, his brother Hijo De Dos Caras reposted the apology on his Instagram and issued a statement in Spanish.

De Dos Caras accepted the apology on behalf of his brother and his family, though he did so rather grudgingly, stating that she was a “garbage person” who cost his brother both “personally and professionally.”

“He, like many other celebrities, was the victim of an advantageous and greedy person,” said De Dos Caras.
