The current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions dropped a big hint to their tag team name on this week’s Talking Smack.
Asuka and Charlotte Flair, who became the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions at TLC, were guests on the show, and before their segment ended, the champions hinted that their new tag team names could be “Queens of Tomorrow”.
The phrase “Queens of Tomorrow” is a mix of both of the women’s nicknames. Flair is referred to as “The Queen” while Asuka is “The Empress of Tomorrow.”
Though both Flair and Asuka are considered Raw superstars, as the women’s Tag Team Champions, they can cross over between brands to defend the titles.
During this week’s episode of SmackDown, they defended their championships against the teams of Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks, and Bayley and Carmella.
During Talking Smack, Flair talked a little about the quality of the women’s tag division, saying that the women who were in it were good but that she and Asuka were not worried.
“It’s not like there’s one particular team we fear the most,” said Flair.
“I’ve been gone and then came back and seeing the improvement of the women like Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke and we’ve beat Nia and Shayna, they’ve come a long way,” she added.
“Then, coming here (SmackDown) tonight, and Asuka and I have been former SmackDown Women’s Champions, we both have a history with Bayley and Sasha Banks. And seeing Bianca in the ring and Carmella, it was great. But like, I think we’re going to be a hard team to beat” she concluded.
