Asuka managed to defeat Bayley this past week on Raw which means that she will face Sasha Banks for the RAW Women’s Championship at SummerSlam, but earlier tonight on SmackDown, Asuka was also the woman who managed to outlast stars from all three brands to book her place in the SmackDown Women’s Championship match.
Bayley attacked Kairi Sane a few weeks ago on Raw and not only cost Asuka the RAW Women’s Championship but also saw Sane suffer career-ending injuries that have now written her off WWE TV.
The Empress of Tomorrow vowed to exact some revenge for her best friend and taking the two Championships from Banks and Bayley would be the perfect way to do this.
Asuka was able to outlast the likes of Bianca Belair, Tegan Nox, Shotzi Blackheart, Lacey Evans, Naomi, and even Shayna Baszler who was the last woman eliminated from the match to book her place in back to back title matches at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
There was even a moment in the match when The Women’s Tag Team Champions attempted to help Baszler to eliminate Asuka, but The Empress fought back and even managed to stand on top of Sasha Banks and Bayley to prevent herself from being eliminated from the match.
Following the match, Asuka, Banks and Bayley all brawled backstage as the issues between the three women continue to heat up, while Bayley questioned whether or not she could beat Asuka after she lost the match to the former Champion this past week on Raw.
Banks and Bayley also announced ahead of the match that they would be forced to defend the Women’s Tag Team Championships at Payback on August 30th. This is the first match that has been announced for the pay-per-view in just over two weeks’ time.
