Aubrey Edwards Confirms The Production of AEW Video Game

All Elite Wrestling has received great success ever since their inception early last year, and with a TV show on a major broadcast network and plenty of successful PPVs under their belt, the company is looking to take the next step for their fans, a video game.

Sporting companies are known to create video games for the fans to have a virtual experience of playing with their favorite stars, and AEW will be joining this list soon. Some of the famous sports-based games currently include FIFA (Soccer), Madden (NFL), WWE 2K series, etc.

AEW referee Aubrey Edwards appeared on the Talk is Jericho podcast and confirmed the development of the AEW video game. She mentioned that it’s still in its early stages and much information couldn’t be revealed.

Edwards has the experience of working in the video gaming industry and said she is currently working on the game. She said she is in regular contact with AEW EVP Kenny Omega, who’s an enthusiastic gamer himself.

“I’m working on the AEW video game. I can’t actually talk too much about it. I don’t know what I can say. I mean, we’re very, very early on, there’s a lot of things that we’re talking about. I talk to Kenny a lot about what he wants out of it, but it’s definitely a ways out. I’m not gonna put a number on it because I don’t want the internet to get mad at me but…”

WWE’s latest release, WWE 2K20, tanked badly, as several bugs affected the performance, leading to refunds being issued. AEW would want to release a well-polished game to ensure they don’t go down the same route.
