Stone Cold Steve Austin is stone cold sober. At least for now.
Sports Illustrated has reported that in an episode of Austin’s podcast, The Steve Austin Show, he has admitted that he’s currently given up drinking beer as part of an overall effort to better his health.
According to Austin, abstaining from alcohol is part of his efforts to get into shape and prepare for an upcoming project.
In the podcast episode, which dropped on November 8, Austin mentions that he’s not just giving up beer for now, but he’s also on a special eating program and he’s already feeling the results.
“My eating program is going fantastic,” said Austin in the podcast. “I’ve had zero alcohol for right at 14 day’s now.
“No alcohol, and when you hit the weights on a consistent basis and eat what you’re supposed to, it is amazing the difference that you can make or I’m making,” said Austin.
He has also taken up yoga, following Diamond Dallas Page’s DDP Yoga program. According to Austin, taking up DDP Yoga has made him “flexible as a mother—-“.
No word on what big project it is that has Austin working so hard to get into better shape. Austin is currently 53 and has been retired from in-ring competition since 2003. Since then, he’s mostly made special appearances on various shows and special events, mostly to deliver a stunner or two and, yes, down a few beers.
His last WWE appearance was during the 25th Anniversary episode of WWE Raw last January where he stunned both Vince and Shane McMahon.
Raw 25 opens up with a series of Stone Cold 'Stunners'. HELL YEAH!
