Brock Lesnar’s WWE contract expired following his match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34, but over the past few months, the Universal Champion has been working for the company on a pay-per-appearance deal which means that he is also free to work for UFC.
It is reported that Lesnar has no attachments to WWE following this weekend’s match at SummerSlam but The Beast himself wants to work out a deal where he can continue to work for both WWE and UFC simultaneously.
A pay-per-appearance deal works much better for Lesnar since he’s able to make more money, but right now WWE is yet to agree on any future terms for their Champion.
Joe Peisich recently revealed on Barnburner’s Fired Up podcast that WWE is set to hold backstage talks with Brock Lesnar just hours before SummerSlam on Sunday, a meeting that could change or confirm the outcome of his match with Roman Reigns.
“Apparently Sunday around 4 o’clock, Brock Lesnar will have a closed-door meeting with the head honchos, maybe Stephanie, Triple H, Vince, or whatever,” he said via Ringsidenews. I don’t know what that meeting’s about. But, if he retains the title you can expect Brock Lesnar will be working for both WWE and UFC.”
“He is having and I’ve been told this by 3 sources, he’s having a closed-door meeting with the head honchos of WWE hours before his matchup with Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.
It has been noted by a number of sources that the finish for their Championship match is still “up in the air” which means that this meeting could be the decision maker for WWE when it comes to Lesnar’s Universal title reign.
