Shawn Michaels retired from WWE after he lost to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26 and has refused to return to in-ring competition in the years that have followed.
Michaels was part of this week’s RAW where he built up the match between The Undertaker and Triple H at Australia’s Super Show-Down on October 6th.
There is speculation that Michaels will be the special guest referee for the match for the match in Melbourne, Australia but this is yet to be confirmed. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer today stated that if Michaels was to return to the ring then it would be in Saudi Arabia on November 2nd.
“By the way, the Shawn Michaels thing. If he does wrestle it is Saudi Arabia if he does, that’s the big money show,” he said via RingSideNews.
Michaels could easily set up a match with The Undertaker at Super Show-Down if he is part of the match but at the same time, WWE could swerve the WWE Universe and set up a match with Triple H and Shawn Michales instead, since there is still the question of a future match between John Cena and The Deadman, who will both be in attendance in Australia, which is the first time they have crossed paths since April.
Michaels and The Undertaker pushed their feud forward on RAW and the WWE Universe were chanting “one more match” between them.
The only issue with Meltzer’s theory is that Michaels has opted to remain retired for more than eight years and has turned down matches against some of WWE’s biggest current stars in that time, so what is it that will push him to accept this one?
