Brock Lesnar lost the Universal Championship to Roman Reigns back at SummerSlam and was then denied his rematch at Hell in a Cell when Paul Heyman asked for it the following night on Raw.
The recent news surrounding Brock was that he was training ahead of a match against Daniel Cormier in UFC and that he wasn’t expected to make a return to WWE for a while.
Interestingly, Lesnar did make his return at Hell in a Cell before it was then revealed that he would be given his rematch for the title at WWE Crown Jewel which is live from Saudi Arabia on November 2nd.
Many thought that it was a last-minute decision to bring Lesnar back to the company to stop Strowman or Reigns taking a loss inside the cell, but this was WWE’s plan from the beginning.
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar hashed out a deal for him to return to be part of both Crown Jewel and WrestleMania before he left the company at SummerSlam.
The smaller details of the agreement will have been worked out over the past few weeks but Lesnar was always going to be heading out to Saudi Arabia to pick up a huge payday much like when he was part of The Greatest Royal Rumble earlier this year.
Lesnar had been hoping to make his return to UFC in early 2019 and had already set up a match with Daniel Cormier, the duo were just waiting on a date, but since he has now returned to WWE, it leaves his UFC future up in the air, unless Dana White is open to allowing him to work for both companies concurrently.
