- PWInsider reports that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Rey Mysterio could be finally headed back to WWE. The source claims that Mysterio is scheduled to see WWE doctors in Birmingham, Alabama later this week in order to have his partially torn bicep checked out before potentially signing a new contract with WWE.
In March, Rey suffered a Grade One partial tear of his left biceps at Northeast Wrestling. In 2014, he last wrestled regularly in WWE before his 13-year run with the company ended in early 2015. Mysterio made a surprise appearance at #30 at this year’s Royal Rumble in January and has been in talks with WWE about returning since.
The Master of the 619 is advertised for Sunday’s New Japan Pro Wrestling event in Long Beach, CA, where he will square off against Jushin “Thunder” Liger.
