This week’s episode of Monday Night RAW closed out with Ric Flair‘s 70th birthday celebration.
Legends namely Kurt Angle, Sting, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Shawn Michaels joined Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in welcoming the 16-time World Champion.
A tribute video for Flair was shown after which Hunter and Stephanie unveiled a custom-made gold championship belt specially crafted for the birthday boy.
The entire WWE roster was on stage to greet The Nature Boy with a guard of honor.
Flair was introduced. Stephanie and Michaels began to speculate as the 2-time WWE Hall Of Famer didn’t come out to his music.
Soon after, Batista was shown heading to Flair’s dressing room backstage.
A few seconds later, The Animal dragged Nature Boy out and looked at the camera before addressing Triple H and grinning evilly.
The COO ran to the back as a swarm of WWE officials including Finlay attended the Jet Flying, Limousine Ridin’, Kiss Stealin’, Wheelin’ Dealin’, Son of a Gun.
After SmackDown 1000, Batista was heavily rumored to face Evolution stablemate Triple H at WrestleMania 35 in a match that would officially witness the retirement of The Animal.
Since mid-2018, Batista had publicly expressed his desire to call his retirement after facing The Game at this year’s WrestleMania. It’s no secret that The Altered Beast has long been waiting for the match to happen.
While it’s a given that the two former stablemates will officially collide at the MetLife Stadium on April 7, WWE might spice things up by presenting Ric as the guest referee.
Triple H suffered a torn pectoral at November’s Crown Jewel pay-per-view that put his WrestleMania status in serious doubt. However, The 14-time World Champion received medical clearance a month ago and has resumed training.
