WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley talked to CBS Sports recently about rumors of another all-women pay-per-view this year.
The Role Model shared memories about the first Evolution pay-per-view in 2018, saying that “it was a long time coming.”
Bayley is also a two-time Women’s Tag Team Champion with Sasha Banks. Back when the duo originally lost the titles at WrestleMania 35, there were rumors that they had thrown a “tantrum” over losing.
While the WrestleMania tantrum has been debunked, Bayley mentioned she did have a “fit” before Evolution. She had been upset that there was going to be a WWE live event on the same day as Evolution.
“I was like, ‘Why are they doing a live event when we’re doing the first-ever women’s pay-per-view? It should be all eyes on us. There should be no fans at other shows. They should be at home watching us,” recalled Bayley.
She calmed down when she realized that it was standard WWE procedure for a live show to happen the day of a pay-per-view.
“It was just such a great day,” she said. “And to see how many people were so happy for us and how much the company made it a big deal.” “I was surprised that we didn’t have it next year,” she said, echoing the sentiment of many.
