The New Year’s Edition of SmackDown was pre-taped this Saturday (December 29) in Pittsburgh and reports have it, the show features an epic confrontation between two superstars.

John Cena has been advertised to return on this show and much like he usually does now, he came out to the ring to cut a promo and issue an open challenge and was interrupted. The interruption came in the form of none other than ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch.

According to reports, The Man marched down into the ring and got in the face of the Cenation Leader. Lynch told Cena that she was the man now and told him that she would take his face off the posters, much like she did Charlotte.

She also made a dig at his love life – or lack of one – but saying if he had a problem with her being the man, “Nikki Bella won’t be the only woman to drop you this year.”

Before Cena could reply, Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas and Zelina Vega came down to the ring. The result? A mixed tag match was set up between Almas & Vega and Cena & Lynch.

Cena and Lynch emerged victorious after Lynch got Vega to submit. But that doesn’t mean the duo are friends now. After the match, Cena offered to shake Lynch’s hand but she declined. Not only did Lynch decline to shake and make up, she taunted Cena with his own “You Can’t See Me” hand gesture before walking away.
