Seth Rollins and “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt went back and forth in a highly physical Universal Title showdown this past Sunday at WWE Hell In A Cell.
With neither man willing to give up, defending champion Rollins lost his mind as he began unloading on Wyatt with several chair shots to the head. Things turned violent when Rollins hit The Fiend’s head with a sledgehammer, leading the referee to stop the bout as the challenger lay motionless in the center of the ring.
The WWE Universe was enraged at this shock finish, swerve rather, and demanded a refund. Many had expected the masked character to walk out of the cage as the new Universal Champion, but WWE had other plans in store.
During a recent interview with Forbes, reigning RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch criticized the finish to the Universal Title match at Hell In A Cell.
“It’s hard being a wrestling fan sometimes. We’re all just going out there doing our best to entertain you guys. We care about you guys. We want you to enjoy yourselves and it hurts when you don’t like it. We feel your pain. We’re all in this together. I’ll do all I can. Just tune into my Twitter. I’ll be entertaining there.”
The crowd chanted “Bullshit”, “AEW” and “Refund” as Rollins kept screaming “You made me do this!” at The Fiend. Referees and trainers rushed to the ring to check on the motionless masked behemoth.
The Beastslayer then stood over The Fiend to taunt him when suddenly Wyatt woke up and locked Rollins in The Mandible Claw. Fans began chanting “Restart the match” as The Fiend planted the champ with a devastating Sister Abigail at ringside. A second Sister Abigail on the concrete followed by another Mandible Claw would cause blood to pour out of Rollins’ mouth.
