Becky Lynch pulled off the impossible when she dethroned both Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair in the Winner Take All main event title match to capture both the RAW & SmackDown Women’s Championships, four months ago at WrestleMania 35.
The Man reigned as ‘Champ Champ’ for a while before dropping the SmackDown Women’s Title at Money In The Bank, thereby transitioning herself into a full-fledged RAW Superstar.
While Becky’s fairytale victory at the Showcase Of Immortals has gone down as one of the best moments in WrestleMania 35, it was later on revealed that the finish was botched – The Rowdy One had her shoulder up but the referee overlooked it and awarded The Man the pinfall.
April 7 marked the last appearance for Rousey in WWE; the former UFC megastar is currently enjoying an impregnation vacation with husband Travis Browne as fans continue to speculate about her future.
As previously reported, the internal feeling in WWE is that Rousey will be making her grand return to the ring ahead of WrestleMania 36.
During a recent interview with Fightful, reigning RAW Women’s Champion Lynch laid down her candid opinions on Rousey’s potential return to WWE and facing The Baddest Woman On The Planet in singles action.
“I don’t know if we will. I’ll be here holding the company up if she does. We still have a one-on-one match to have. I’ll be holding this championship until someone pries it out of my cold, dead hands. So if she ever wants to come at me – Ronnie, I’m here waiting, you little weirdo.”
At this point, fans are optimistic about Lynch vs Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36.
However, with top-favorite Sasha Banks now back as an even bigger, hotter badass character, it’s worth speculating whether WWE actually needs Rousey to take the business forward from here on.
