The women of WWE will take center stage on October 28th when Evolution is streamed live from the Nassau Coliseum in New York, but whilst Stephanie McMahon was preparing to make the huge announcement regarding the first ever all-women’s pay-per-view, many of the WWE Universe expected Tag Team Championships.
WWE has allowed the women to make so much history over the past few years, but the fact that there aren’t enough women on each roster could be one of the main things that are keeping WWE from adding these titles to their programming.
Becky Lynch is someone who is completely behind Women’s Tag Team Championships being added to the main roster and recently appeared on The Wrestling Compadres Podcast where she shared a way that WWE could make Championships work and the fact that she wants this step up for the women.
“I am constantly thinking about it and brainstorming and pitching for it,” Lynch said via WrestlingInc. “Even if I am not involved with it, I still think that it would be a wonderful step in the Women’s progression.”
“When I say involved in it, I say that because I am going after the Women’s championship and that is where I want to be, but in the future that is where I want to be, especially in the future.”
The Mae Young Classic is set to take place this weekend, which means that there are a lot of women working for WWE at the moment, but only a handful on the main roster.
“We have all these women in the Mae Young Classic and have so many girls and having such a deep roster, We still have a shallow side – not shallow, but there are a few women on either side of Raw and SmackDown.”
“We probably have like 8-10 on either side, so that is kind of tricky do a tag title and Women’s title, but if we can combine and go through all the different things and connect, not sure if that is possible, but who knows.”
