SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will be putting her title on the line in a Triple Threat match against Charlotte Flair and Asuka on December 16 at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs. The betting odds for the highly combustible matchup have now been revealed.
According to Sky Bet, Lynch (1/1) is the favorite to retain the championship, walking into January’s Royal Rumble with the belt around her waist. Flair (11/10) is the second favorite to win the title while Asuka (9/2) is clearly the biggest underdog.
‘The Man’ made her return to WWE TV this week on SmackDown Live. Lynch was replaced by Flair at Survivor Series after suffering a broken nose at the hands of “Facebreaker” Nia Jax during the invasion segment on the go-home edition of Monday Night RAW.
Asuka earned her spot in the match by emerging victorious in the Women’s Battle Royal on Tuesday night.
It would be interesting to see how WWE books the finish as all three Superstars currently share a win-win situation. The Irish Lasskicker is the hottest Superstar in WWE right now, The Queen’s recent heel turn has brought new life to her character and The Empress of Tomorrow is now on the road to rebuilding herself for the main event spotlight with this opportunity.
It’s very unlikely that Asuka will leave San Jose with the big blue belt given the figures, although WWE will try to give her the upper hand throughout the match to re-establish herself as a top main-eventer. Flair seems to be breathing down Becky’s neck; The Queen may recapture her championship gold as Lynch was earlier reported to drop the title at TLC.
With over two weeks left for TLC, fans have already billed the Triple Threat match as a strong contender for the main event slot at the SAP Center.
