Looks like the rumors surrounding the gravity of Alexa Bliss’ injury were correct. The Goddess has been officially removed from the big tag match at Evolution with Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Lita.

Bliss was supposed to team with Mickie James to take on the two Hall of Famers, but now the official announcement from the WWE states that it will be Alicia Fox who will be teaming with James.

According to the WWE, the Goddess was pulled from the match due to an injury, but will be replaced by the “wily Fox”. However, Bliss is still expected to be in the corner of James and Fox.

This isn’t the first time that plans for Bliss’ participation in the first all-women’s pay-per-view Evolution have been changed.

Originally, Bliss was announced to be facing Stratus one-on-one in what many were calling a dream match – even Bliss herself. James, on the other hand, was set to go one-on-one with Lita, reigniting their old Attitude Era rivalry.

However, an on-screen confrontation between Bliss, James and Stratus on Raw led to Lita storming the ring. Stratus and Lita renewed their friendship and announced they were ready to face James and Bliss in a tag match.

The change from two singles matches to one tag match was meant to protect Bliss who had suffered an arm injury facing Ronda Rousey in Hell in A Cell. While Bliss was cleared to return to the ring last week, she was then reported to have suffered a concussion while facing Rousey at a WWE Live Event.

Rousey is also slated to be at Evolution where she will be defending the WWE Raw Women’s Championship against Nikki Bella.
