The Elimination Chamber pay-per-view ended successfully for The Miz as he cashed in the Money In The Bank briefcase to capture the WWE Championship from Drew McIntyre.
Miz had some help, however, from a man who had a less successful night, the former United States Champion Bobby Lashley.
Earlier in the show, Lashley lost his championship in a triple threat match to Riddle. After McIntyre won the Elimination Chamber match, Lashley came down to beat up McIntyre and put him in the Hurt Lock. It was then that The Miz came down to cash in and win his second WWE Championship.
While Lashley’s attack on McIntyre seemed to come out of nowhere, the fact that it helped Miz cash-in seems to confirm the idea that the Miz is in “business” with Lashley’s faction The Hurt Business.
During a backstage segment before the Elimination Chamber match, The Miz and Hurt Business leader MVP were seen together. It’s believed that the two struck a deal that saw Lashley attack McIntyre to the benefit of the Miz.
On his Twitter after the match, Lashley seems to confirm these theories, simply writing “Business”.
Lashley had won the US Title back at Payback. With this loss, the gold that Hurt Business holds is down to the Raw Tag Team Championships of Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander.
