There has been a lot of confusion and rumors going on about Braun Strowman‘s plan for Wrestlemania 34. As per the current plan, Braun Strowman will be facing the Intercontinental Champion The Miz. However, Dave Meltzer had a lot to say about that on the Wrestling Observer Radio
“One thing was changed, and that is that Miz-Braun Strowman appears to be out [for WrestleMania]. If you watched [Raw], it’s pretty clear that they’re going to be doing Miz-Seth Rollins, and probably Finn Bálor, in a three-way, which takes Strowman out. Strowman is obviously – based on what happened there, Strowman is the backup plan in case something happens [with Brock Lesnar].
“I don’t know if they’re going to go with a three-way at Mania, with Strowman in there with Reigns and Brock Lesnar, but if something happens with Lesnar, obviously Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman is the only match you can put in that spot. And if something happens with Roman Reigns, and something still could, Strowman’s obviously the only guy you can put in that spot, as well. I suppose they could go with Strowman with Elias, but it is very interesting …
“There is a Braun Strowman backup plan clearly in place, whatever that means.”
Filmmaker Jon Bravo continues to claim that there is sufficient evidence that Reigns has been a client of an illegal steroid distribution ring. If those claims are true, any information released could actually put Reigns’ title match against Lesnar in trouble and the officials feel that Strowman should be a backup if things go wrong.
This situation has become extremely interesting now. If everything goes as planned, Strowman could be added to the main event for a Triple Threat match against Reigns and Lesnar. Given the huge popularity of Strowman, WWE will not do a mistake of not giving him a substantial match at their biggest pay per view event.
