As guaranteed by Commissioner Stephanie McMahon on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Braun Strowman will be getting yet another shot at Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship in the near future.
Lesnar squashed Strowman to capture the vacant Universal Championship at WWE Crown Jewel. The Beast is on his second reign with the title and already cemented his legacy as the longest reigning Universal Champion (504 days) before losing the title to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.
Reigns was forced to relinquish the title in October to take a medical hiatus to fight against the returning Leukemia.
Stephanie guaranteed that Strowman will get what he wants as long he is on the same page as RAW. The Monster was granted his championship rematch and GM Baron Corbin, both of which will “get his hands” after the November 18th PPV, Survivor Series.
Since The Beast isn’t booked for December’s TLC PPV, Strowman will most likely wrestle Corbin at the event. The Monster is expected to fight The Beast at Royal Rumble next year.
As reported earlier, this could possibly be a move to keep Strowman out of the title picture at WrestleMania 35. The Monster Among Men is currently facing backstage heat that has led to WWE pulling back on his push.
Although a strong fan-favorite, Braun was denied the championship gold at Crown Jewel and Brock, despite being an avid part-timer, again has the Universal Championship around his waist.
There are a couple of ways WWE could book Strowman given he isn’t going to get his hands on the title anyhow in 2018 or even at Royal Rumble when he fights Brock Lesnar. An interesting angle is already being considered for the Universal Championship match at WrestleMania 35 featuring Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins besides Strowman as The Beast walks into the MetLife Stadium on April 7, 2019 to defend his title.
