This Saturday morning saw the return of Talking Smack on the WWE Network and it was here that a change was announced to the WWE Universal Championship match at the SummerSlam pay-per-view.
Current champion Braun Strowman is set to face The Fiend and it has now been announced that the championship match has a “Falls Count Anywhere” stipulation.
This is the third match between Strowman and Wyatt. Wyatt, sought to use his previous relationship with Strowman in the Wyatt family to urge Strowman to “come home”. The two faced off at Money in the Bank, where Strowman retained.
After Money in the Bank, they faced off in a “Swamp Fight” during Extreme Rules, after which Wyatt’s alter ego “The Fiend” appeared. Now Strowman is set to face the Fiend for his championship.
There are also some reports that Strowman’s former Mixed Match challenge partner Alexa Bliss might be involved somehow. Bliss was initially stalked by the Fiend to get to Strowman, but he Universal Champion however said he “didn’t care” about Bliss.
Bliss confronted Strowman on Raw, who seemed to prove his words by lifting her over his head and throwing her out of the ring. Little Miss Bliss hasn’t been onscreen since.
