“The Mecca” Brian Johnson has officially re-signed with Ring of Honor. It was announced by ROH and by Johnson himself on Twitter.
Johnson’s character is a bit of a heel on ROH and his re-tweet of the announcement of his re-signing reflects that. He takes umbrage at the fact that they didn’t use an updated photo of him in their announcement.
He also doesn’t seem to think too much of the wording of the announcement, stating the writer should be fired. Despite this, he also states that he’s “here to stay” in ROH.
Johnson was a member of the first class of the new ROH Dojo in 2018. He was a competitor in the 2019 Top Prospect Tournament but was eliminated in the first round by Austin Gunn, who is now signed with AEW.
Johnson made his Final Battle debut last month, facing off against Danhausen. Danhausen won the match by getting Johnson disqualified and earned himself his own ROH contract.
Johnson’s re-signing comes on the heels of several other announced re-signings of ROH talent. Also announced to have re-signed earlier this week were Bateman, Amy Rose, Mark Haskins, and the World Six-Man Tag Team Champion Bandido.
It also follows news that ROH has officially parted ways with Marty Scurull.
