WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will defend his title against Braun Strowman at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event in January. With more than a month to go, the betting odds for the epic combustible title defense have already been revealed.
According to Sky Bet, the odds reveal a 50/50 split between Lesnar and Strowman. Both men are priced at 5/6 to walk out of Royal Rumble with the big red belt. With such equal odds, the match could go either way.
Although the WWE Universe would be delighted to see part-timer Lesnar dropping the title to babyface Strowman at Rumble, it should be kept in mind that Seth Rollins is currently being rumored to clash against The Beast for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35.
The Monster Among Men is currently rehabbing from elbow surgery. However, he did manage to defeat Baron Corbin in an arm sling at TLC (with a little help from Kurt Angle, Finn Balor, Bobby Roode, Chad Gable and Heath Slater) to earn his championship rematch against Lesnar at Royal Rumble.
With Strowman already booked and unable to take part in the historic 30-Man Elimination Match in Phoenix, it would be interesting to see how WWE ‘decorates’ that match given the company’s top Superstar Roman Reigns is also out of the picture.
Brock skipped TLC and is yet to appear on WWE TV to hype his feud with Braun.
A recent report reveals that Paul Heyman will be out there cutting a promo on the Christmas Eve episode of Monday Night RAW only to be interrupted by Strowman who shows up with a taped up arm (no sling in sight) and drops a ‘spoiler’ for Royal Rumble.
WWE’s upcoming and first PPV of 2019, Royal Rumble takes place on January 27 from Chase Field, Phoenix, Arizona, United States and will officially kick-off the Road To WrestleMania.
