Reigning, defending, undisputed WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar is currently being reported to work more dates inside the squared circle post-WrestleMania 35.
As reported by Brad Shepard on the Oh, You Didn’t Know podcast, Brock is currently slated for more dates as opposed to previous speculations. It’s known that Lesnar is skipping TLC and that leaves him with Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 35, but it appears that he will be wrestling post-April 7, 2019.
“Brock Lesnar so this run he’s on right now will probably be similar to his last run in the company and he’s likely going to do more than a couple of dates. Again, it was reported originally elsewhere that he’ll do 2 more dates. It’s likely that he’ll do more than a couple of dates.”
Currently, Lesnar is scheduled to face newly crowned SmackDown Live Champion Daniel Bryan this Sunday at Survivor Series. The Beast’s next date post-Sunday is January’s Royal Rumble where he is expected to wrestle Braun Strowman, although Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins are also being considered in the mix.
At this point, Skybet points at Brock Lesnar vs.The Rock to be the new front-runner to headline WrestleMania 35. The Rock was earlier reported to be the favorite to win Royal Rumble 2019 and then face Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the Show of Immortals. With Reigns out of the picture and the title around The Beast’s waist, WWE might keep the theme and replace Reigns with Lesnar.
If Lesnar sticks with WWE post-WrestleMania 35, this raises the question as to whether he would be carrying the Universal Championship or not. If his current title reign is to be similar to his previous one, then expect The Beast to carry around the big red belt after April 7.
