Brodie Lee Was Hospitalized for Several Months Prior to His Passing

The wrestling world was shocked and saddened by the news that former WWE and AEW star Luke Harper/Brodie Lee passed away yesterday.

Lee’s wife Amanda revealed on Instagram that he had passed away from a lung issue that wasn’t related to COVID-19, but it appears that it was an issue that kept the former Champion hospitalized for several months.

Brodie Lee was last seen on TV at the beginning of October and according to a report by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, Lee was hospitalized at the end of October.

Lee was slated to take some time away from TV after he lost his TNT Title to Cody Rhodes but AEW didn’t know how bad the situation was. His lungs reportedly got worse and two weeks later, he was admitted to the ICU.

The former Champion’s wife kept AEW up to date regarding his condition as it began to worsen, but the company was able to keep it under wraps until they were forced to make yesterday’s sad announcement.

Tributes have been flooding in from both WWE and AEW stars following Lee’s death where many stars have stated that Lee was a kind, loyal family man and he will be missed by every star that he worked with.
